چکیده

There are different methods of statistical hypotheses testing. 1 – 4 Among them, a special place has Bayesian approach. A generalization of Bayesian rule of many hypotheses testing is given below. It consists in increasing of decision rule dimensionality with respect to the number of tested hypoteses, which allows to make decisions more differentiated than in the classical case and to state, instead of unconstrained optimozation problem, constrained one that enables to make guaranteed decisions concerning errors of true decisions rejection, which is the key point when solving a number of practical problems. These generalizations are given both for a set of simple hypotheses, each containing one space point, and hypotheses containing a finite set of separated space points.

Bayesian Fuzzy Hypothesis Testing with Imprecise Prior Distribution

This paper considers the testing of fuzzy hypotheses on the basis of a Bayesian approach. For this, using a notion of prior distribution with interval or fuzzy-valued parameters, we extend a concept of posterior probability of a fuzzy hypothesis. Some of its properties are also put into investigation. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed methods are also cla...

Misplaced Criticisms of Neyman-Pearson Testing in the Case of Two Simple Hypotheses∗

The main aim of this note is to revisit the widely-used Bayesian criticism that in the case of simple vs. simple hypotheses Neyman-Pearson (N-P) testing gives rise to fallacious results. Using a particular example in Berger and Wolpert (1988) the paper argues that the Bayesian criticism is based on inadequate understanding of N-P testing and an erroneous intuition stemming from Bayesian reasoni...

TESTING STATISTICAL HYPOTHESES UNDER FUZZY DATA AND BASED ON A NEW SIGNED DISTANCE

This paper deals with the problem of testing statisticalhypotheses when the available data are fuzzy. In this approach, wefirst obtain a fuzzy test statistic based on fuzzy data, and then, based on a new signed distance between fuzzy numbers, we introducea new decision rule to accept/reject the hypothesis of interest. The proposed approach is investigated for two cases: the casewithout nuisance p...

A Study on the Commentary of Historical Verses with an Emphasis on the Rule of Al-Ibrah

One of the prevalent commentary rules about commentary of the historical verses which has a certain revelation occasion and refers to a specific time and place is the rule of alibrah being stated as: take in consideration universality of the word not particularity of the occasion. The source of this rule refers to the verses which have universal word and particular occasion. The referent of the...

Testing Simple Hypotheses

We introduce a neutral statistic S that makes the Conditional Frequentist error reports identical to Bayesian posterior probabilities of the hypotheses. In symmetrical cases we can show this strategy to be optimal from the Frequentist perspective. A Conditional Frequentist who uses such a strategy can exploit the consistency of the method with the Likelihood Principle—for example, the validity ...
